The RE4Industry Project recently hosted a Knowledge Transfer Webinar on the topic of “Grüne Kalkindustrie: Herausforderungen und Chancen” (Greening the Lime Industry: Challenges and Opportunities). The event, which took place on June 23rd, attracted a diverse audience of over 30 participants from the industry and research sectors. The webinar provided valuable insights into the lime industry’s transition towards a greener future and highlighted the role of biomass solutions in achieving decarbonisation goals.
The RE4Industry Project would like to extend sincere gratitude to all the participants who attended the Knowledge Transfer Webinar. Their active engagement and thoughtful contributions made the event a success. Special thanks are also due to the esteemed organizers and presenters, including Olgu Gizem Birgi, Dr. Rainer Janssen, Manolis Karampinis, and Frank Ohnemüller, whose expertise and insightful presentations enriched the webinar experience.
Dr. Rainer Janssen commenced the webinar by presenting the RE4Industry Project and discussing the importance of renewable energy solutions for Energy Intensive Industries (EIIs). This comprehensive overview set the stage for Frank Ohnemüller’s presentation on the Decarbonisation Strategy for the German Lime Sector. Participants gained valuable insights into the lime industry’s pathway to decarbonisation, with a focus on practical strategies and opportunities.
A highlight of the webinar was Manolis Karampinis’ presentation on Biomass Solutions for the Lime Sector, organized by Bioenergy Europe. This session showed the potential of biomass as a renewable energy source in lime production. Following the presentations, participants actively engaged in a moderated discussion session. The interactive dialogue centred around the practical implementation of biomass solutions and their availability in the lime industry.
To further explore the information shared during the webinar, all participants are encouraged to access the presentations.
The RE4Industry Project would like to express its sincere appreciation to all the participants and co-organizer Frank Ohnemüller for their valuable contributions in making this knowledge transfer webinar a truly memorable and enriching experience. Stay tuned for future updates on the progress of the RE4Industry Project as we continue our journey towards a sustainable and greener future.
